I'll be baaaaaack!

I did not totally abandon the blog these last few weeks, but have not been out and about with the camera, have had computer video card problems, and  have been crazy busy a lot. Next week we go to Seattle where himself will spend a great deal of time at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance for the next few months. Let's see what I can find in my off time. I promise--while there--to post an image a day from that very day. Well, except when I don't.

Without irrigation our valley would be a desert. Note the patchwork of crops beyond. The Rattlesnake Hills are in the distance here, taken looking the opposite direction from yesterday's view. No need to explain that name...

The wind machine protects the buds from frost in early spring by circulating the air, mixing warmer air from above with the cold air that would otherwise settle near the ground and damage the crop. The Horse Heaven Hills are in the distance, so named because they were difficult to farm in the early years, but heaven for horses.

Same location as yesterday, this trail loops around near the top of the cindercone at Newberry Volcanic National Monument in Central Oregon.
