Hippety Hop

The Stellar Jay stayed with us throughout our picnic, but never stayed still for even a moment.

Stellar Jays are our Western version of the Blue Jay, and are very commmon in the mountains and forests all over the western states.

With their cousins the Gray Jay and the Clark's Nuthatcher, they are sometimes known familiarly as "Camp Robbers." Not hard to guess why.
