A cluster of berries on the Mountain Ash in our yard are decked with snow this morning.
The entire tree is still covered with red berries, making it a red beacon as we come down the road. I don't remember this being the case in past years--that the berries have remained so long after the leaves have fallen.Sunday, January 6, 2013

Very beautiful! Those touches of color are so important at this time of year. I'm waiting for the waxwings to show up and eat the crabapples on my little tree. Hope they arrive before some other bird gets them.
